The Dutch ILO-Net
The ILO-Net has been established to bring together all ILOs with the aim of:
- enabling Dutch companies to win important orders from Big Science more often;
- offering industry greater continuity in challenging high-value work;
- enabling science to gain easier access to highly qualified companies;
- enabling SMEs with less international experience in conducting business to become more closely involved in BSPs.
The ILO-Net is a collaboration between Dutch Industrial Liaison Officers (ILOs) who are employed at scientific and university institutes. It is an initiative from the NWO Institutes who are responsible for the national coordination of Big Science projects for international facilities such as CERN, ITER and ESA. NWO funds all the scientifical research in Holland. In the ILO-Net, ILOs consolidate their strengths to bridge the gap between Dutch industry and large Big Science facilities.
Thanks to central practical and organisational support provided by NWO, the ILOs can realise their tasks more effectively. Various Dutch government ministries and industrial umbrella organisations were closely involved in the establishment of the ILO-net.
Those Dutch firms who are experienced Big Science vendors are presented with their profile in a brochure which can be found on line. This booklet is monthly updated and issued at events ILO-Net is organizing. Dutch companies who are interested to publish in our booklet are kindly asked to subscribe on the Dutch Big Science web site.
